I'm a little worn out by all the media hoopla around whether Oprah is a lesbian. Rumors have circulated for umpteen years about the talk show queen and the true nature of her relationship with her best friend, Gayle.
I do find it interesting that no one ever uses the word bisexual when querying her sexuality. Bisexuals are so invisible.
I don't think Oprah is lesbian or bi, though. If she was, I think she'd tell us. This is a woman who lives her life on TV every single day. She holds nothing back from her adoring fans. The woman even talks about her own poop -- the shape of it, the frequency, and the ways in which she hopes to have even better poop in the future.
Besides the fact that she is a pioneer in bringing gay topics to national TV, my feeling is that if she's willing to talk about her poop, plus the endless minutae of other details about her all-powerful existence, I think she'd be cool saying she loves women.

Women have always had girlfriends. It is their psychiatry. Men don't understand women's deep feelings....everyday needs...love of all men, women and children. I don't have men friends except my husband. Yes he is my best friend....my best man friend. I DO have a best women friend. She knows me more than anyone else in this world. My husband knows me more than any one else in the world, but one as a woman and the other as a man....AND NEVER THE TWAIN SHALL MEET.!!! I LOVE THEM BOTH.
I don't care if she is or if she isn't. I do care that she is concerned with helping the people in her circle, her city, her country and in the world.
Who the heck cares! People need to get over their Judeo/Christian & Muslim brain washing that sexuality is a taboo. No one cares - not me at least. I am sure Oprah is not a lesbian but if she were -- what difference would it make. She is a very charitible, unslefish woman who shares her success with so many people from all different strata of society worldwide - what more could you ask for. She doesn't put her money in a vault to count it & watch it grow (which it does) but she reinvests in humanity - there is nothing more noble than that. Oh and please don't tell us that homesexuality bla bla bla is unatural, a sin - it has been around since day 1 and is even common in the animal kingdom. Just because those beare boy who wrote the "holy" book were homophobes and said Gos is too doesnt make them right.

I also think Oprah is a great woman, but I don't think she would tell us if she's bisexual . Somethings do have to be private and Oprah is very public.She's deserves a little of privacy in her life, especailly about her personal life.So who cares let her live!! OHHH PLEASE!!!!! Why is it that anytime a woman does not get married by age 20, she is automatically gay!! Anyone ever thought that she likes having her freedom? With that much money, I would! And like someone else said, if she was gay, she would say so. She lives her entire life on her show and she has no prejudiced about anything. I, personally, admire her a great deal!!!

Oprah did a show a long time ago after she started gaining everyones confidence as she was snorting cocaine. Everyone excepted her and only did this after she was rich enough. Maybe she does not want to talk about such a private matter as she may lose her popularity and money. No one should care as it is her business what she does in her private life. Many gay people are productive, law abiding, loving, kind, decent, working people that also pay taxes. They vote, some are biological parents, some adoptive parents there are some that are Christians and love God and believe in Christ, some protect us in the military (and give their lives), some protect us through law enforcement. Some are your doctors, lawyers, ministers, and leaders in the society. It's time to get over the gay issue.

Who cares, Opera has touched the hearts of millions, is active in every community and is an inspiration to millions,,,why is everyone sooooo rapped up in who is gay and who isnt,,,why are so many people ready to judge people on their sexuality, why not on their meaningful attributes and what they have accomplished,,,why are people so obsessed with what they do in bed? If having a best friend that you love to hang out with and be there thruogh thick and thin (no pun intended) makes you gay...then i must be having an affair...I'm female and my most trusted friend is recently divorced and straight). I've been marrried 17 years. But I suck at choosing women friends. He doesn't lie to me and I get to be the hormonal one and he wont steal my husband. When things get tough here I send my husband to HIM for a few days so they can hang out.

Your sexual orientation doesn't make the person. If she is with Gayle and has kept it from the public all these years more power to her. Those types of things are more meaningful when they are kept private between you and your partner.
Three cheers for mentioning that she could be bisexual, not that it would be any of our business. She seems to be a an intelligent woman, so she probably doesn't base her admiration for others by what is in their underwear.
It doesn't matter though. Her sexuality should only be the concern of her and those she might sleep with, and it doesn't effect her contributions to society. I actually don't care to watch her show or anything else she does, but I respect her efforts and her right to live her life as she choses.
She probably isn't a lesbian though.... I mean she has had the same job for more than a year, she wears makeup, and her waistline doesn't exceed her height.

what really surprises me, i understand having a best friend. and oprah constantly never lets you forget that gail has been her best friend. its like there mothers gave birth in the same room.
