Not
everything in this world is black and white -- unless Heidi Klum says so. Thus
was Frau. Klum's 'Project Runway' edict this week: To design
a cocktail dress using black and white and no other color.
The assigment was very straightforward and clear, but that
turned out to be the only thing this week that was. The rest of the show was a
roller coaster of surprises, with these being the top
three:
Laura Did Not Have a Complete and Total
Meltdown
'Runway' threw us all of us for a loop since the
previews leading up to this week's episode made everyone think that Laura's
roiling expectant-mother hormones were going to get the best of her. Yes, she
did have a breakdown: "I wanted to make a change in my life. A big career
change. But now I'm just too tired, it's getting exhausting." But instead of
totally losing it, she won it. She had her best week ever, designing a dress
that was finally outside the realm of something she herself would wear. The
woman is strong-headed, pushy and judgemental. And I love
her.
Then There Were Seven
It was
pretty shocking when Heidi lured the cast to a "party" at the Pink Elephant bar
to meet two "special guests" who turned out to be former contestants invited
back into the competition for this week and this week only. We knew there were
going to be special guests and yes, the Olsen twins would have been a hoot (to
make fun of) or, if there was a God, the Carlson
twins, but no ...
Dresses by the three muska-tears, Angela, Vincent and
Kayne
'It's like cockroaches ...
'
"You step on them once, they keep coming around." That's
what Kayne had to say when the special guests turn out to be Vincent and Angela.
The event quickly devolved into a misery-spiral for the remaining contestants
who thought they were finally free from the pesky pair to whom all of America was
only too happy to say auf Wiedersehen.
Why
'Runway' chose those two to make a comeback is the real mystery. Ostensibly,
they invited them back for having won a previous challenge. They should have
invited people back who were good -- who could have really shaken things up and
been serious contenders to win the challenge (Malan, Allison). Instead, we get
the psychodynamic duo can't design their way out of a paper bag, except by
accident.
Fortunately, neither Angela or Vincent were up to
the challenge of winning the black & white project -- and neither was
Kayne who finally got the ax.
I'm
still calling for Michael to win. He's the most consistent and, as the judges
pointed out, he delivers a "total look."
Who
will be auf'd next? I think it will be Uli. I love
her work and she could totally have a shop and sell her print dresses to people
who winter in Miami, but she does keep proving herself to be a one-trick pony,
even if that trick is an awfully good
one.

I think its going to come down as follows for leaving..Its going to be Uli,then the final 3 will be Laura,Michael and Jeffrey and I am so hoping Michael wins. I am still trying to figure out why Jeffrey is even there if he already does alot for the hollywood set.
I say Jeffrey is out next. He has come very close to being eliminated before and his stuff isn't polished or very marketable, and I think that's what the judges look at. Michael, Uli, Laura with Michael easily winning.
I guess you took your anti-cussing article to heart, lol.
"These BITCHES are like cockroaches..." --Kayne.
And, you know I think Michael's going to win, but I don't know about Uli getting kicked off next... as Kayne says, "I'm bankin on Jesus..." to kick Jeff the FUCK off.
lovelove, dear. <3
I think Michael will probobly win this seasin but i wan't Jeffery to win. He is the most original and creative and he seems to put his whole heart and soul into his outfits and works the hardest. Some of his stuff may be a little "out there" but have you've ever seen some of the outfits of other top designers walking down the runway ( like on the style network ) ?
HI, I THINK KAYNE SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO TIM WHEN HE TOLD HIM MORE THAN ONCE ITS A BLACK AND WHITE DESIGN, HE IS GREAT AT WHAT HE DOES O JUST DONT FEEL HIS STYLE IS FOR EVERY WOMEN-MAN THE MAJORITY OF THEM THIS YEAR WERE SET IN THERE STYLE NOT FOR THE PEOPLE WOMEN DIDNT DESIGN FOR MEN MEN COULDNT DISIGN FOR THEMSELVES ETC. ULI IS JUST SUCH A HIGH FASSION JET SETTER,AS SHE FEELS ONE IS, I DONT SEE WHY SHE IS ON THE SHOW HER DESIGNS LOOK LIKE THE EARLY 80S LATE 70S AND HER LAST DESIGN I FOUND TO BE UNFAIR FOR HER TO HAVE GOTTEN A BLACK AND SO CALLED WHITE PATTERN, SHE DIDNT MAKE IT .SHE BARELY HAD TO DO MUCH.. MICHEAL THUS FAR DESERVES TO WIN FOR ALL THE CONSISTENCE IN HIS WORK WORDS AND MIND. AND AS FAR AS THE RECOVERY MAN THAT KNOWS EVERTHING AND DOES PRIVATE WORK FOR THE ROCK STARS AND JET SETS TO AGAIN IF U R THERE ALREADY WHY R U ON THE SHOW. LAURA CAME OUT HER COMFORT ZONE AND SHOWED THE WORLD WHAT SHES CAPABLE OF, BUT IT SHOULD B A LITTLE TO LATE.
WEEK AFTER WEEK I ASK MYSELF, "WHY IS JEFFERY STILL ON MY TELEVISION YET SOMEONE AS TALENTED AS ALLISON IS HOME WATCHING HIS DUMB ASS LIVE HER DREAM?" I HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT ALL MY TASTE MUST BE IN MY MOUTH BECAUSE ALL OF HIS DESIGNS THAT HE'S GETTING SO MUCH PROPS FOR LOOKS LIKE A COLLAGE OF BULL**** THROWN TOGETHER TO FORM SOMETHING THAT RESEMBLES CLOTHING. THE BEST DRESS I'VE SEEN FROM HIM WAS THE RECYCLING CHALLENGE. DON'T GET IT TWISTED, I'M A DIE HARD M.K. FAN, BUT I DO BELEIVE JEFFEREY SHOULD HAVE WON THAT CHALLENGE...AND THEN AUF'D SHORTLY THEREAFTER!
IS JEFFEREY SO TOTALLY FASHION FORWARD THAT HIS AESTHETIC IS SIMPLY OVER MY GHETTO FABULOUS HEAD? LISTENING TO THE JUDGES' REACTIONS TO HIS "STUFF" MAKES ME THINK THAT I'M JUST A SIMPLE GHETTO CHICK WHO WILL NEVER GET IT. OH WELL...
SHOUT OUT TO MICHAEL KNIGHT...YOU RULE, BABY!!!
