First of all, Elliott is still destined to win.
But before I get into all that, you should know that this blog may be the most important thing you read today. Newshounds reports that Fox, the "fair and balanced" news source, says that "35% of American voters think their votes for the next 'American Idol' are just as important as their votes for president of the United States."
This explains so much.
Now, let's get on with the important news: THIS WEEK'S SHOW!
My man Elliott accompanied her to the elimination pit. I wasn't worried and I'm still not. He is definitely a strong contender to end up as one of the final two. He sounded brilliant all night. His selections of 'On Broadway' and Michael Bublé's 'Home' showcased his range and the purity of his voice. He's a W-I-N-N-E-R, winner!
As for the rest of the gang:
-- Taylor sounded solid, as he usually does, and he's genuine, but he's just too spastic to be an 'Idol.' He'll be out next.
-- Katharine had the worst performance of the night. 'Take a Look at Me Now' may have been about the worst song EVER performed by ANYONE in 'Idol's' top 12 in ANY season. During her number I could only look away, but I am taking a look at her now -- and seeing her slip-slide toward elimination. Her second song was good, but you cannot suck as badly as she did this week and be the 'American Idol.'
-- Chris was able to be the rocker he is, which it turns out is kind of a screamer. I actually like him much better when he performs outside of his rock genre, like he did on gay cabaret night a couple of weeks ago. If Chris went gay, he'd be OK -- but he'd better rein it in if he wants to be himself in the final two with Elliot. I suggest a little more Mick Jagger and a lot less Scott Stapp for a variety of reasons.
The primary reason Chris needs to leave the Scott Stapp sound behind is because Stapp SUCKS -- secondarily, he yowls too much. Most Top 40 rock these days is about as exciting as a milk sandwich, and trying to liven it up for 'Idol' is like putting on deodorant without taking a shower: It can sorta work, but then the stink comes flying out anyway. If Chris wanted to play to the gays AND the rockers, he could do some vintage Judas Priest and burn the house down.
Which brings me once again to this week's Gayest 'Idol' Moments:
1) Taylor and Ryan Lying on the Floor Side by Side, Elbows Touching: What was that cozy moment all about? Ryan is the most skilled move-maker ever. I honestly had the feeling that if 45 million people hadn't been watching, something could have happened between them that Taylor would have tried to explain away the next morning as having been caused by "too many beers."
2) Paris as Diva-in-Training: The gays love their divas and Paris has it in her to be one. She Mary-J-Bliged her way into the hearts of gay men big time this week. Keep your eye out for her -- as soon as she graduates from high school.
3) 'American Idol' Cupcakes: OK, these weren't on the show, but they totally are THE GAYEST thing about 'American Idol' this week. They're highly creative, slightly bitchy, and no one else has thought to do them. Kudos to blogger televisionism for taking 'Idol' to an even higher art form than we thought possible: the cupcake.

Sorry, but I totally have to disagree with you about Elliott. Chris will win, because a rocker never has. But you are definitely right on one point: Katharine butchered 'Against All Odds.' She's no Phil Collins. Taylor is just a goof and needs to go home. He dances like a wounded chicken.
You cant make a prediction on who will win yet. If you watched season 3, you would have seen that Fantasia stunk on a couple songs, just like Kat did. So you never know, she just might be the next American Idol.

Elliot is just not getting enough support to make it to the final 2. He is an awesome talent, but the votes just aren't there. Katharine will not make it to the final two. According to dialIdol she was only a couple hundred votes away from being in the bottom 2. The final 2 will be Chris & Taylor because of their huge fanbases. Those two have consistently been in the top 2 sometimes rotating spots. Kat has been there but her support comes and goes and it isn't always consistent like Chris' and Taylor's.
I really think that Paris should have stayed she is really good. But the one who should really be voted off is Taylor. He is good but he is just too old, I don't think anyone wants to be their next idol to be old, Do they?

I don't think that your opinions are very accurate. If you favor a competitetor on the show, that doesn't mean that they will win. Yeah, I don't think Katharine's first song was very good, but she wasn't THAT bad. Also, I agree with the other people. I believe Chris is Katharine's biggest competition and vice-versa.

While I totally believe everyone is entitled to their own opinions I cannot, in any way, shape or form see how Elliott or Taylor are still in a competition that is supposed to highlight musical talent. While I agree that Katherine had a very rough first song I think she more than made up for it with the second one and while Chris did have one rough song at least he challenges himself with his musical choices. For me, Elliott bores me to tears just by opening his mouth and Taylor, while at least being some comic relief, should have been gone weeks ago. Ultimately when you are looking for some great musical talent I believe the final two will be Chris and Katherine with Chris winning...That is if Americans who vote wake up and smell the talent.
Paris was the best contestant left in the competion in my opinion. Well life goes on, I am just glad that Fantasia won season 3.

Clearly, Chris (if only I wern't partnered already), and Katharine are the
favorites for the final two. For me, both Chris and Kat have improved the
most during the competition....and THAT...is the key.
It's funny, I correctly predicted 5 out of the top 6 (I had Mandisa before

The only reason people put down Scott Stapp is because he is a christian man who fell off the wagon so to speak with his addiction, he is also human and alot of people unfortunately suffer from addictions. Creed was a great band. As far as Chris he is a natural he has a awesome voice and yes he should be the next idol, so his voice strained during his last song after weeks & weeks of rehersals etc I am sure there all exhausted. Katherine has turned to getting votes by trying to be sexy plus she arrogant, Taylor is talented but boring and Elliot has a awesome voice and seems like a real good guy who has had to over come alot to be where he is today as far as his looks why should that matter? "Ruben Studder" was no prince charming and he won!
I admire Taylor for his courage. I do not appreciate his talent the way some people do. I should say that I do not understand it. He can sing, but an entertainer he is not; maybe at a small family wedding. I do not see him as the next AI. I actually figured Paris to at least be one of the final three along with Chris and Kate. Since when is looking good or being sexy such a downfall for someone. While I do not believe it should make or break someone it is not Katherine's fault or Chris' fault that they happen to be talented and goodlooking/sexy. This is not a beauty contest, if it was how the hell did Reuben Studdard win or Clay Akin come in second. Some people need to stop being so bitter toward the pretty people, in the case of this years American Idol contest the pretty people just happen to also be the most talented.
It is interesting to read everyone's reaction regarding this recap, and it is clear where one person's loyalties lie versus another's. But, the bottom line is that American Idol should be about a combination of talent, charisma, marketability, and bringing something new to the American (and world) audience. All four contestants clearly have something to offer in these regards, otherwise, they wouldn't be standing where they are now--among the Top 4. As always, the votes will decide.
I'm also hoping that America smartly chooses who they want to represent America as the Idol. I, for one, believe that the truest of all talents lie in Elliott Yamin, because he went into this competition without the benefits of the manufactured looks or theatrics that the other three finalists have. He got to the Top 4 because of his exceptional singing ability. Nothing more. That is what the voting public recognized, and that is truly what this competition is all about. Anyone blind or deaf to this reality is clearly misguided, and, if all goes the way it's been going, we will not be rewarded with such a talent.
So, listen up, America! Truly listen, and know deep in your hearts that Elliott Yamin is the most deserving of the final prize in this competition. But, this is just my opinion. :-)

I totally disagree with this article. I think (and hope) that Elliott will be gone this week. He's just not good enough. I think that next will be Taylor, simply because a large part of his performance is based on his on-stage personallity, which will not be the best on a CD. My prediction is that Katharine will win, with Chris second, and that will be fine with me, I'll get both Cds! :o) I thought that Katharine's second song was great, by the way. :o)

Elliot needs to turn down the "vibrato" a little. Chris is too stuck on himself. Katharine did great in the begining, but as she got into the finals, she is breaking down with the pressure. I really believe Taylor's "mildly retarded ways" is an act that goes great with his singing. Look at Elvis' moves and he is a legend! Taylor is talented and a genuine person. CLEARLY, everyone has a different opinion and different tastes in music. As someone else said, they all have a special talent. Look up the word IDOL in the dictionary and see what it says. Elliott has my vote to win the American Idol! Taylor is more showmanship than portraying the real reason for the American Idol! He needs to be reminded that it is a vocal contest not dancing! Elliott is the best vocalist by far. We use to kid about him looking like Goat Boy from Saturday Night Live but he has the most pleasant controlled voice out of all of them.
As good as Katherine is, there is something about her that is not right, and I think it is, that she thinks she is the best, a bit conceited. Yes Taylor should have been gone moons ago like someone else said. Chris is ok, but he sometimes takes it over the top, forcing his voice.
You could see that Elliot really wants to win, he is working very hard at it, doing better than all the others, and deserves to win. My vote is for him and he does have the best controlled voice.

I don't understand why Chris was voted off. He is by far one of the top 2 talents.
Taylor should have been voted off weeks ago he is a fat simi talent. The way he trys to dance just makes me want to turn the channel.
As far as the gay stuff that is just stupid Chris dosen't have a gay action at all.
It just doen't seem fair that it is left up to the people to vote when they vote like they did to vote Chris off and leave Taylor on.
Elliot is the artist of the bunch.....the rest r all mediocre.
Someone should teach Taylor to stand straight. His phisical alignment and postures is so off that one wonders if he's trying to kiss the ground. He was leaning over even during the ghetto song. He's going to end up with a bad back.
Chris was the next americian idol I hope some record company picks him real soon. Taylor and Elliot do not even come close to look or act like a idol. Niw Kat is great some one will pick her up for a album soon.

I think tonights competition will tell it all. Taylor has captured an age group so wide and extensive, that he will be our next american Idol. I am a young fifty and feel that he got us all in his moves and emotion attachments to the songs he has song.
