magazine has a gallery out this week of celebrity makeovers. Clay Aiken
heads up the pack, which also includes Jessica Simpson, Beyonce,
Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Seacrest.
As celeb makeovers go, some of them are good, others are more like good-grief.
All of America got to see Clay's new look last week when he appeared on 'American Idol' in what might have been the gayest TV moment ever.
Question: Was it also the meanest TV moment ever?

than any other show, 'Idol' has an uncanny ability to make jackasses of
people (and if they're femmy guys like Michael Sandecki, even better),
while making their dreams come true. It leaves the viewer, well, me
anyway, wondering if we should be laughing with the object of 'Idol's' affection, or at them. Is it homophobia or homophilia? And is the joke on them -- or on me?
Look
at the early episodes of any 'Idol' season: It's clear that Simon hates
sissies. That has a habit of spilling over into the show as a
whole. In watching the Sandecki-meets-Clay thing play out, it seemed
almost as if 'Idol' was trying to butch Clay up by having him appear
next to a nelly screamer.
Which brings me back to Clay's makeover. WHAT IS HE THINKING?
Clay, who was geekier than all get-out when he first came to 'Idol,' got a good makeover
during the course of the season in which he won first runner-up, and he
and ended up pretty cute. This mop of hair thing he's got going on now,
plus the ultra-sculpted eyebrows and overindulgence in Max Factor, make
him look plastic and like he's trying way to hard too be something he
isn't.
And maybe that's the problem.

God, I thought the same thing about the Clay Gaiken set up with his gay boy admirer. It was uncomfortable. I suppose because you know American Idol was making fun of him for being so gay.
who cares american idol is fixed when u see them sing live they all suck. and why is every idol from the south. just another way the producers can push crap on the american public and call it entertainment. what ever happened to great drama or comedy thank god for bbcamerica

Clay Aiken's hair and makeover looked cool. Celebrities and recording artists are always changing their looks and image to keep fresh and interesting in the public eye. Isn't that right Cher?

I liked the new hair and I just about died laughing when the want-a-be Clay realized the crowd wasn't cheering for him. The finale was overall great in my opinion. Clay was a shocker and the funniest part of the show! As far as the gay thing goes, all of his fans knew he was light in the loafers before they voted for him, no suprise here, anyway.

OMG it was awesome. I loved the look alike Clay guy and his reaction. Clay's new look is great but its the voice that is from heaven. Can't wait for his new CD...sitting on pins and needles. I have a feeling it'll be about Christmas time and with my large family the store I shop at will be sold out in one day. Heck, I may have to go to another store to get more for gifts. Clay and Kelly are the only ones that have made it BIG from the show. The others are just spinning their wheels are fair grounds and parks but hey, they have to do something. OMC will and has already proven to be the best.
Neither Taylor or Katherine will shine. In my opinion, Chris rose above them all and we all know it. Katherine is a snobby bitch and Taylor is a dumbass. I say the contest is rigged. How do we know our votes are actually counted? The 1st season was the best. Kelly Clarkson was the best performer and I enjoyed every moment she sang. I still enjoy hearing her voice. Look how far she has gone! (Since she got out of her contract with AI). As for the other winners in the past, Reuben sucks---Clay should have beat him out. Fantasia was OK, but Diana wasn't all that great either. Bo was far greater than (what was her name again? I can't remember!) So this year just proved that it's all politics. Just because someone in their 20's has grey hair! Come on! He still can't sing! And just because some rich bitch from Hollywood is in it.(Always heard money talks) Yeah,yeah........I know and she looks good too, but she knows it. (And a big baby!) American Idol needs to wise up or they will be off the air in the blink of an eye!

I AM A 53 YR OLD WOMAN AND I THINK CLAY AKEN IS ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE AND HAS A FABULOUS VOICE. WHY IS EVERYONE SO INTO SLAMMING SOMEONE FOR WHATEVER REASON. IF MORE PEOPLE WOULD MIND THEIR OWN BUSINESS AND QUIT DOWNGRADING OTHERS, THIS WORLD WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE. McPhee did not desrve to win. She has no warmth or personality. She appears to be an overindulged princess who is pretty impressed with herself. With all her voice lessons I am surprised she did not make it to stardom without idol. I am sure she is too.

Katherine will never outshine Taylor. She unfortunately was phony, whiny and full of herself. In all the interviews she is always trying to be the only one talking, I think she put her health issues out there for attention and that she is currently trying to take attention from Taylor. But guess what, it will never work. Taylor has a solid fan base of all ages that are dedicated to him and determined to make certain that he stays on top and that all his dreams come true. He is extremely talented and has so much to offer us all.
Check yourself on the floor because Katharine was destined from the beginning to outshine Taylor. The notion that Taylor has an enormous fanbase is like saying everybody likes the class clown. To be accurate, however, there are those small-minded children that can feed their ADD with the foolish nonsense that Taylor provides, and then there are those that pay attention to the qualities of a REAL singer. While you all can enjoy watching the crowned half-wit make an ass of himself, I will be listening to Katharine's chart-topping CD and wondering how Americans could be so ignorant in voting for the one contestant who had no talent in such an amazing group of performers. That's the bottom line. Check it!

I totally agree with Pinkypam1.. Chris out sang everybody in Idol 06.. On the other hand, i'm glad he didn't win.. this way he doesn't have to compromise his singing style.. he's doing just fine on his own.. Daughtry rocks.. I have the CD and I LOVE it! Can't wait for him to come to the Broome County Arena in Binghamton, NY.
