Coming Out: Talk About It

P!nk, Lance Bass & Reichen Lehmkuhl, Billie Jean King, George Takei and Others: They're All Talking About It

I am loving the cool new online art project that HRC launched for this year's National Coming Out Day, which is today, Oct. 11.

It's easy (print, shoot, upload), fun to look at (hotties and fun people), and has a simple message: "Talk About It."

A bunch of celebrities are talking about it -- and I got my hands on a few of the photos they sent in.

By the way, it's just as much fun to peruse the photo gallery and see, you know, the everyday guy/gal who could easily be the dream date living next door to you.

P!ink                                                            Reichen Lehmkuhl and Lance Bass

HRC's Mark Shields and Billie Jean King      Jessica Simpson and blogger Perez Hilton

Bishop Gene Robinson                                   George Takei and HRC's Joe Solmonese

Laura Linney and Joe Solmonese                   Ron Reagan, Jr.

To take part in the Snapshot Photo Project :

1. Downloada “Talk About It” sign from the website, http://www.hrc.org/snapshot

2. Take a picture of you, your downloaded sign, and perhaps someone that you would like to 'Talk About It' with

3. Upload your digital image to HRC's Online Photo Gallery

I am praying that God almighty will convict each and every one of you about your sins.  Men with men is just wrong and you will never prove it otherwise.

MEN WITH MEN ARE DISGUSTING.  tHEY WALK AROUND MAKING OUT,HOLDING HANDS,ITS JUST WRONG.  i CAN DEAL WITH IT, BUT GAY MARRIAGE....NO WAY!!! MARRIAGE IS FOR A MAN AND A WOMEN NOT MAN TO MAN OR EVEN WOMEN TO WOMEN.  COMING OUT OF THE CLOSET IS A MISTAKE THEY SHOULD HIDE THEMSELVES IN THESE CLOSETS FOREVER!! AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED CHILDREN SEEING THIS IS CONFUSING AND TEACHES CHILDREN IT ACCEPTABLE....AND ITS NOT.  NOW A DAYS PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO MAKE IT MORE ACCEPTABLE.....I HOPE ITS NEVER ACCEPTED....ITS NASTY!!!NASTY!111NASTY111NASTY1111

Comment on franh52 posting...........Must be nice to be someone judge and jury. I am sure you are very blessed to be Gods right hand "man".

this is totally wrong.  In the bible it didn't say that mariage oar for men and men or even woman and woman.  It say that its for man and a woman.  Those who are gay have a high price to pay infront of God.  this is the more biggest sin human can make.  those who are Gay will not make it up in heaven i sorry.im not saying i have gays all i am saying is that its so wrong and i will never accepted neither will God.  READ THE BIBLE.

God made everything on this planet. There is nothing and no one He didn't touch. Some people are gay; get over your closemindedness and let people live. We have to learn about compassion and acceptance of our fellow man. Otherwise how are we to survive??

"Let the one without Sin, Cast the First Bible" but before you do, please quote the Chapter and Verse that Jesus (himself) said about Homosexuality.  Jesus NEVER condemed us.  Jesus did hang out with the social outcasts of his time.  So called "Christians" who think they have the Mind of God, need to read who it was that condemned us in the Bible (the Apostle Paul) and see what Pauls life was like before he became a Christian.  Jesus often spoke of 'unconditional love'.  Read condemnations of GLBT people and ask yourself "Where is the Love?".  "Judge Not Least Ye Be Judged".  Finally, if you are responsible for turning AWAY gay and lesbian people from God with your condemnation of them, then YOU will also be accountable to God for that.  Talk about it.

The people that are posting all the stuff about how it's wrong and you can never prove it my question is this, why are on the gay and lesbian section of aol anyway???Obviously curious about something...and who gave you the right to judge???Last I heard that's God's job and I hear so much about how we're going to hell for being who we are and I get to thinking, hey you're goin right with me buddy, because hate is a sin too since you think being gay is...so I guess we'll be seeing each other...not saying that we're all going to hell but if bigots seem to thinks so then they need to get on the boat because they're coming too. God loves everyone.

30,000 children are dying every day from hunger and you waste your prayers trying to keep people who love each other from getting married? I will never understand your value system. God bless you, gay people of the world, and I can't wait til the day when we truly stop arbitrarily mixing church and state. Shall I remind all you radical so-called Christians what hatred in the name of God is doing around the world? Just stop it, ok? Stop it.

You sound like my grandma when I came out. I don't know about the whole gay marriage debate--- it seems to me like it should be a religious thing--- but I know that being gay is not the greatest sin. Do you think being gay is a greater sin than abortion? Do you think being gay is a greater sin than murder? Do you think that being gay is a greater sin than rape? If you do, I truly pity you.

*Bi Pride*

Pretty simple. God is love. That should say it all. Who is to define love better than God. The bible says "Judge ye lest ye be judged". I pity those who truely believe they are going to heaven and are so judgemental. We gays should pray for their souls.

Asin is a sin. They don't come in little sins, or big sins. Just sin. Hmmmm.

Oh wow, this is a disgrace. I will never understand this as long as I live. Its total disgust! What Im talking about here is HOMOPHOBIA. It must feel great doing God's "job" by judging and pointing the finger. I have a lot of gay friends and let me tell you, Ive never once felt like they were "too open", or "too physical" in front of me. I dont know where some of u are getting your facts, but Im sorry, the only gay people who would be tacky enough to "make out and hold and in front of everyone" were either tacky already (and Lord knows, you dont have to be gay to be tacky, as proven by some people here) or probably just trying give a little "screw u" to all you "God fearin' folk", cuz that what you are right?  God fearing?  Well, I can't WAIT to hear what he's got to say to those of you who think theyre better than their fellow man.  Everyone is the same, no matter what they do, look like, or love.  God is love, and if you can't love someone just because of the way they love, then let me tell you, that's not God working through you.  Oh and one more thing, do u really think God would "condem" someone to "Hell" for falling in love with someone who just happens to have the same "equiptment"?  If God was really like that, Im sorry, he wouldn't be the kind of God Id want to worship anyway.  But I don't believe God is like that.  When will you get it through your heads, when u judge man, you judge God, because God is perfect right?  God is love right? Well, did you ever think that MAYBE everyone is different for a reason?  Don't judge God's work and God's love.  Maybe you should turn the finger towards the mirror, but its pretty obvious some of you never will get it. Thats the real shame.

Wow, homosexuality as the biggest sin. Have you looked around lately? People are born who they are, as they were made. Period. There is no reason anyone would willingly choose to be among the most hated, persecuted minority in the U.S. Maybe we should be more concerned about being punished by God for the hatred we hold in our hearts, the lack of compassion, the lack of love, the willingness to so quickly condemn.

(And for those who are biblical scholars, people in power have skewed the original text since they day they realized what a power tool the Bible could be in influencing the masses. Unless you are cabable of reading the original text, you shouldn't be so sure you're reading it as it was intended.)

Why do gay couples decide to have children? If gay is natural, natually same sex cannot conceive children?

Anonymous said...

Using your logic, Lottiebolden or whoever, in-vitro fertilization shouldn't exist either. Only those who can conceive naturally? Come on. You haters really fascinate me. I'm addicted. Like watching the monkeys at the zoo.

I'm not gay, but most of my friends are. You know what I dislike most? Christians. Both the Buy-bull and Koran have been twisted and preverted by narrow minded people to fit their own agenda.   Judgemental, holier then thou people you are.

I am a 54 year old female and I am not gay.  BUT I have a Male gay friend who is the best friend anyone could have.  He is a wonderful person to know and have in your life.  I don't understand gay bashing....And I certainly don't understand why someone would write the message "nasty....nasty...etc".  There is so much wrong with the world right now and too much energy is spent deciding who will get to heaven.  I really believe that God will make that decision, not us.  But I could not imagine a heaven without my best friend....

When will the world learn that you can disagree with a person beliefs without condemning the person.  I freely confess that I am a Christian and that I believe that chosing a gay/lesbian lifestyle is wrong.   That said...were it not for the grace of God and the blood of Christ, I too would be denied entry into His Kingdom because I too sin.  I may not be gay, but I have my sins too.  Let's face it, we are ALL sinners.  To say that God will not forgive a sin is condemn ourselves.  True Christians, I believe, are accepting of others, even if they don't agree with them.  We should always open our arms and our church doors to all.  If we deny sinners entry...the pews would be empty...as would heaven.  As Christians we want everyone to make it to heaven.  Our calling is to bring as many as we can to God by allowing Him to work through us.  As for changing people...well, that is God's job, not mine.  My job is to to, as Christ commanded,  "...Love one another..."  I may think being gay is wrong, and gays might think that I am wrong to consider it a sin, but we can both agree that God gave us the power to chose.  I will respect yours and please respect mine....

It's a sickness that God never intended to occur. It's a choice that these freaks make and there is no way anybody will ever convince me that they are born that way. Why would God allow someone to be born that confused and mixed up, as to think they are the opposite sex or in love with a member of the same sex. God after all did create Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. It's an abomination and that is exactly why God destroyed Sodom and Gommora. Do any of these freaks realize what the name Sodom implies. Sodomy and if sodomy was a sin 3,000 years ago then how do they think that fact has changed and made it alright now. These frreaks are sick and they all need some serious evaluation and serious time on a couch with their shrink not a member of the same sex. They are sick and have a sickness that God will never cure. Massdawg13

Just because society has gone into the crapper doesn't mean we all need to hear about how wonderful it is to be a genetical mistake.

You people with your better than everyone attitude make me f-ing sick. This isn't 1908. I honestly don't understand how you can sit here and honestly think that these people are all "going to hell" because they are gay. Its not exactly always a CHOICE... its just WHO they're attracted to. Is marrying your fat oaf of a husband a sin?? Cause that would gross most people out. Everyone on here who wrote anti-gay comments... you're all a bunch of bigots and you'll be the ones rotting in hell for not being accepting of people who have done nothing wrong except don't have the same sexual orientation as you. Grown people who can't accept gays and lesbians... do you accept that women are equal to men?? or that blacks are equal to whites??? Seriously... grow up.

I guess I am fortunate I have a gay brother, gay friends, etc. I am far to busy in my career my kids, my business, to really worry about who sleeps with who, man to man, woman to woman. I guess I am just lucky to have all of my friends in my life to worry about what others are doing.

Ok mass dog and corn dog. I guess you're right, and everyone else is wrong. I  am sure God is so glad to have his dog-soldiers patrolling the place and deciding who's right and who's wrong. You are ridiculous and small, and you make me want to love gays more than I already do.

Ok... seriously... People should be with whoever the hell they want! You people are too closeminded... and just a little FYI... not EVERYTHING has to do with the bible... not EVERYONE believes what you believe... so shut the hell up, and worry about your OWN "sins"... and let everyone else live their own lives... Seriously... their lives have nothing to do with yours... scared of a little gay PDA? Maybe gay people are scared of straight PDA... seriously... what the hell is the matter with you people!!!!!! Gay or not... PDA is everywhere... dont like it? Don't look... walk away... and WHY THE HELL ARE YOU ON A GAY AND LESBIAN WEBSITE IF YOU HATE THEM SO MUCH???? Get off!!!!

People who hate are ignorant and insecure about themselves.  What I was always learned from being a church goer, is about God's love.  We are God's children, and everyone of us are different.  For example, a couple who has 6 children know all their kids are different.  One kid might have blonde hair, and the other red hair.  Or one kid has blue eyes, and the other brown.  Does that make one child less than the other? Heck No!  In the parent's eyes, their children are perfect.  Just like in God's eyes, all of us are perfect to him.  No parent loves their child less than the other.  If people truly believe in God, then they should know that God's love is unconditional!  Just like our parent's love, it's unconditional!  People need to realize that our world is diverse for a reason.  The reason is it makes LIFE EXCITING!  It makes a person WANT TO LIVE IT!  If we lived in a world where no one was different and we were all exactly the same, then we would have boring and dreadful lives!!!  Who wants to eat the same meal three times a day for the rest of their lives???!! Yea, my point exactly. :)

I agree with the person who said we should all read the bible.  Here are some other fun facts from the bible:

Dear Dr. Laura

I need some advice from you regarding some of the other
specific laws and how to follow them.

2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in
Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair
price for her?

4. Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and
female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend
of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can
you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus
35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated
to kill him myself?

6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an
abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than
homosexuality. I don.t agree. Can you settle this?

7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I
have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading
glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room
here?

10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two
different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing
garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester
blend). Is it really
necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town
together to stone them? - Lev.24:10-16. Couldn.t we just burn them to
death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with
their in-laws? (Lev.20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident
you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is
eternal and unchanging.

Your devoted disciple and adoring fan,
Jack

I'm sorry to anyone I am about to offend,

Most of you people in here who are pretending to be all holy and following the word of God are not very good people your selves. Some of you probably abuse women and children, hurt or abuse animals, get drunk and high, smoke cigarettes(the bible says your body is a temple and you should not destory it), have raped or molested women, are cheating on a wife, say GD all the time, get jealous, have pride, steal, lie and eveything else it says not to do. So don't judge anyone else until you can be totally sure that you are a truly good person... that includes no unholy thoughts

P.S. I watched something on Discovery channel or PBS that said that most people who hate gays and lebsians are homophobic or have had some kind of experience with being gay... so think about that

P.P.S. Most of you who say men with men are bad don't knock women with women to much huh?

To the Gay Community, don't let closeminded people hold you down because they have their own guilt and regrets

People, I do not understand why every issue of gay or lesbian is referred back to the Bible?  Yes God definitely had to do with it, but it is more on the level of Biology. All you haters explain to me how being homosexual is a sin when it is not their fault? It is the same as condemning the child for his parent’s deeds. During development of the fetus so many things could change.  What would you do if one of your own children would be gay? Hate him? Read more on Genetics, Biology and Human Variation that would give you a few insights on how things work. Bible will never explain that to you. Bible is a book of people, written by people with their own opinions on life. So I would not relay on it for answers on homosexuality.

My own take on homosexuality...I believe with all my heart the poor blokes can`t help it.  We have all sorts of Birth Defects...so why not a Birth Defect that involves the brain...the part of the Brain that addresses our sex to the opposite sex....somewhere in the natural formation in the womb...SOMETHING HAPPENS!...and the child is born..PERFECT in everyway...UNTIL when the child is old enough to ask itself..."AM I IN THE WRONG BODY?"..."WHY DO I FEEL THIS WAY?"...I think I should get the Pulitzer Prize for thinking of this...I think it makes Perfect sense.

One narrow-minded "jjkorndog" posted that gays are "genetic mistakes"....Are they genetic mistakes just because someone is gay?  If there is such, (personally  I dont think God makes mistakes) and if you do, take it up with him, you biggot, ... because he loves EVERYONE, even people like you.  You should get on your knees and thank Him for letting such a judgemental, non-loving person live another day.

Oh my, heaven help you for calling God creator of genetic mistakes....watch the lightening!  That goes for all you judgemental biggots, not walking in love.  Thats NOT GOD'S LOVE you represent, so don't try to hide behind Him.

I am not a Lesbian but I dont have a problem with gays nor lesbians.I read the bible, but i like to keep an open mind, and i dont feed into everything it has to say.I have friends who are gay, and some who are lesbians, and they are very happy.Thats all that really matters. Now like i said, I DO read the bible, but who am I to knock someone for being gay or whatever? Im not higher than any other human being on this earth, and just because someone is gay, doesnt mean they are not still human.Gays and Lesbians are treated very unequally, and its not right. For the people that want to preach about how ungodly it is to be gay or a lesbian, if your not gay or lesbian, dont worry about it.If you feel that strongly about it, then just worry about yourself going to heaven or whatever.Lets the Gays and Lesbians be happy

This coming out gesture as if it were some rite of passage and acceptable moral behavior is wrong and unacceptable to the very One Who created these "people:"
Just read these words from God Himself:

"...for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:  And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men, working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet."  (Romans 1 : 27-28) You want to know why we contract AIDS and such diseases?  This is why.  Don't be proud of being a homosexual.  Ask God for deliverance and give us all a better world.  I do not condemn homosexuals but I do the practice of homosexuality.

THE BIBLE SAYS THAT MANKIND LYING WITH MANKIND IS AN ABOMINATION. HE DESTROYED SODOM AN GAMORRAH BECAUSE OF THE SINFULNESS OF THE PEOPLES. GOD WILL NOT CREATE SOMETHING THAT CONFLICTS WITH  THE BIBLE. GOD CREATED ADAM AND EVE, MAN AND WOMEN TO BE JOINED TOGETHER. HE CREATED THE BIRTH PROCESS FOR THE REST OF HUMANITY AFTER THAT. HE DOES NOT CREATE EVERY CHILD THAT IS BORN EACH AND EVERY DAY. YOU CAN SAY IT'S GENETICS THAT CAUSE DOWNS SYNDROME BABIES, GAYS, SICLE CALL, PEOPLE WITH ALLERGIES TO FOOS OR PLANTS. ETC.   PEOPLE CHOOSE THEIR LIFESTYLE AND CAN QUIT IT ,IF THEY WANT. TO SOME, IT IS LIKE QUITTING ALCOHOL. IT'S A STRUGGLE EVERY DAY TO DO IT, BUT THE LONGER YOU GO WITHOUT IT, THE EASIER IT IS. I HAVE GAY FRIENDS AND I DON'T LIKE THEIR LIFESTYLE, BUT THEY ARE STILL FRIENDS.  JESUS SOCIALIZED WITH COMMON PEOPLE, LIKE SINNERS, AND HE MINISTERED TO THEM AND THE SAME FOR RICH PEOPLE. HE TREATED EVERYONE THE SAME, BUT HE  CONDEMMED THEIR SINFUL LIVES. WE ARE ALL BORN INTO SIN, BUT THE SACRIFICE OF JESUS ON THE CROSS PAID THE DEBT FOR HUMANITY. ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS ACCEPT AND FOLLOW HIM. MANY HAVE GIVEN UP THE BOTTLE, DRUGS, AND THE GAY LIFE.  NONE OF US ARE PERFECT AND WE ALL SIN, BUT THAT IS WHY JESUS DIED FOR ALL OF US. SO WE ALL CAN HAVE THE CHANCE TO GIVE UP THE WAY OF SATIN AND FOLLOW HIM. AMEN

im a 17 yr old female, no im not gay but i live in a society where recently being gay or bi has started to become popular. now if everyone juss does it to act cool then yes sooner or later more then a few ppl will get hurt. but back to the real topic,... everyone should juss let people feel the way they feel. why have diff. feelings for sumone because u find out their gay?! no thats not how it should work. Massdawg and korndawg sat and wrote about god never meaning for any of this to happen, and thats not true. im not a regular church goer but i knoe that if god never wanted any of this to happen, would we still be here? you were best friends with your neighbor, your cousin, your brother or sister before finally they sat you down and told you they are gay. now hopefully there are OTHER PEOPLE who feel the same. just because of their sexual preferance it doesnt mean they should get treated diff. thats means if you were to come out about being gay people would treat you diff. because of how you treated them. now why doesnt every one juss shut upp because theres no way to end this or anything, and if half the world can get along with everyone being who they truly are then so can everyone else!

sexual freedom is key.  people who have to leave angry messages about people being "out" and are soooo against sexual freedom aren't getting it good in the sac.  or maybe they don't get their sac played with enough.

if you would relax and explore your sexuality, you might like what you find.  don't be afraid of what your god thinks.  if you're catholic, you get your last rites said and you walk into heaven scot-free.  and if you're not catholic just remember that your god is all forgiving and go have yourself some fun.

I dont really have a comment per se but, I do have some questions. If God is all loving and all seeing and created us and is so perfect and actually worthy of being worshipped, how come he makes so many freaking mistakes? It's interesting to note that when asked the hard questions most "religious" people quote from the Bible rather than respond from the head or heart. If God gave you a mind, when are you ever going to use it? The Bible was written by man, not spiritual beings...men. And not only men but, men with an agenda. If you use the King James version of the Bible to supplement, what I can only characterize as, a weak argument, you surely know that the original words were altered by a monarch..a man...not God or a spiritual being.  The biggest irony is, of course, if this was a couple of months ago, we would be listening to the Republican Congress codemn, by legislative inaction, homosexuality and even better, we could have had a front row seat and heard Mark Foley "views" on online predators and pedophilia. It's not homosexuality or hedonism or religion or chauvinism that is destroying our country and this world. It's a skewed sense of entitlement, intolerance and, above all, rampant hypocrisy. Hey....I guess I had a comment after all, huh?

I dont care how much you qoute the bible. Quote it all day long. It is a MAN written book. Anyone can come along and say " God told me to write this". Ive been to church, doctors, prayed, all that jazz. Im still gay! Nothing will change that. And these so called "changed" people. Ive talked to them and the men or women that marry them wish they had never done it! They dont stop being gay. They just force themselves to live another life because of pressure! It has nothing to do with being changed. You go live your life. Stay out of mine and stay away from my rights! When you pay my taxes you can have a say in them. Until then... Save your hate for church where it belongs! Dont kid yourself. It is hate! Plain and simple!!!!!

Seriously, you honestly did not get up this morning and go 'Hey,  I think I will go on the internet and bash some gay people and try to sound all religious,' and if that was your first thought waking up. You need to burn in hell for hating God's children and by the way. The Bible says no sin is greater than another.... have you lied before.... ever in life? Have you eaten shell fish or any animal with hooves?-Lev.11:10 Then if I am going to hell.... I will see you there!

Love Ya!

P.S.~~~> God loves me. He will always love me. Thats all the love I need... That and some from my gay boyfriend!

First of all, I would like to make the statement that I am gay and seventeen. I am also a highly religious christian, I honestly cant stand people that say that being gay is a lifestyle. It's not! People need to understand that, you really need to think about it when you say things like that because its stupidity.

You do not choose which gender you are attracted to, and that whole thing about you can change your orientation is just nonsense. I truly believe that people that christians that hate gays are not true christians because the Bible tells us to be Christ-like and christ never hated anyone.

If you need me to explain Liticus 18:22 "Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind, it is abomination." If you really want to be strict with bible teachings, you can take for example that the bible speaks ill or female prostitutes but it clearly doesnt say anything about hating them, the same goes for homosexuals. God never says he hates them.

I truly believe that God NEVER makes mistakes, everything has a purpose. For example I am gay, but I have a caring heart and I have led people to the Saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. So God makes everyone and everything for a reason. The statement about God not creating everyone is just plain ignorance. It says in the Bible that God knew you and what your life will be like from the moment of your conception, and if he truly was displease with your existance he could have made you a miscarriage, but he doesnt because he loves everyone.

So Coming Out Day is a day that us gays see as support and to help us be happy in our lives because we get the reassurance that we're not alone in the world.

Guys,

I have read through these comments and see points well spoken on both sides of the fence.  But what I do not see is any comments that help solve anything.  And none of this senselees bickering between parties ever will.  The truth of it is, is that we are all God's children and he does love everyone of us, but that doesn't make what we do or say right.  According to God's word, homosexuality is a sin, much like lying, cheating, stealing, or murder. God's plan was for men to be with women.  People who shy away from this plan are sinners, just like someone who has an affair with someone of the opposite sex. I too am a sinner just like every single person that has posted on this blog, so I have no room to talk.  I am not here to persecute homosexuals.  I am simply stating the facts.  The point is, in order to consider yourself a true Christian you must realize your sins and repent.  Ask for forgiveness from God and you will receive it.  So, gays and straights alike, we need to spend less time persecuting one another and look inside ourselves and ask forgiveness for the wrongs we have committed.  Try to love every one just the same no matter what their orientation, and be harder on yourself than the person standing next to you, and that my friends will help those of you acctually seeking eternal life.  So, finally, no i do not support gays and lesbians, and I do not support adulterers and adultresses, but I do know people who can be labeled as this, and I try to support the ones who obviously try to resist the temptation to commit sin.  I am no better than any homosexual, and niether are any of you, but that doesn't make being gay right.

In all seriousness, straight dudes are copying gay fashion so much that im not sure who to hit on anymore. Haha!

::sigh:: Tthe ignorance of most people astounds me.  All I have to say is, in a world filled with so much hatred, pain, intolerance, ignorance, loneliness, and fear how can anyone say it is wrong for two people to find some happiness in their love for one another.

For those who are straight and in realtionships, don't you feel safe when you are in the arms of your companion?  Don't you feel loved and warm as if problems don't exist for the time being?  (If not, you are obviously in the wrong relationship?)  How can you deny a fellow human being that same feeling?

Anyone who says being gay/bi is wrong must want everyone in the world to remain stuck in the same unhappiness and loneliness they are in.

Love is love people, get over it.

The Bible says that being gay is as much as sin as eating shrimp, hamburgers, garden veggies or shaving.

I am straight. I'm not narrow minded.

Anonymous said...

Those of you who said that being gay isn't a lifestyle choice are right, and I can prove it. In fact, I challenge those who say it's a choice to try an experiment: Starting tomorrow, announce to the world that you are gay. Attempt to fall in love with someone of the same sex. Then, attempt to make love with them. If you are straight, the idea of this may be repugnant to you. Don't you see that that is exactly how gay people feel when you ask them to live as if they are straight? I pray that my sons never attempt to live such a lie, or worse, marry someone who is attempting it.

Good for anyone who has the courage to come out and let the people they love know that they are gay. Not knowing how there friends and family will react to the news can be very scarry. I'm not gay, but i don't look down upon or hate anyone for just trying to be happy with themselves and who they are. Anyone who bashes the people on this site never should have been here in the first place. Most of them are just pervs who saw a picture of two hot chics and thought they would see some girl on girl, but then saw a picture of two guys holding hands and and got grossed out by gays. Hate to tell them girl on girl is gay so lighten up and let the gay man have there guy on guy. If you don't like it don't watch it. Most homophobes are gays unhappy about who they are.

Ok, to the ignorant asshole who cited the destruction of Sodom and Gammorah as proof that God hates anyone who doesn't fit into your stereotypical heterosexual mold, READ YOUR BIBLE!  Don't just listen to what others tell you is there, because if you had actually read the passage, instead of listening to others and not forming any opinions of your own, you would know that the reason that God destroyed Sodom and Gammorah was not because of homosexuality, but because the cities were inhospitable towards others.  Which, funny enough, seems what you are doing because some religious nut made up something which you think gives you the right to hate.  Oh, and by the way, I am a Catholic, I love God, but I actually read the Bible, and don't just take others opinions on it.

I'm a 48 year male, straight, always will. My opinion is "i don't care who's gay". I was pissed at Ellen when she came out only because it fucked her TV show "Ellen" up. my thought, ok ur gay, move on. My opinion doesn't at all when it come to that, if you want to tell it to world, tell it and let it go.

I have an observation... The government wants to ban gay marriage because "the Bible says it's wrong". Why would a society who is trying so hard to get the word "God" off of government buildings, out of the pledge of allegience, and out of schools, worry so much about a religious ceremony? It's complete hypocrisy. If the government is going to take God away from everything, why should they care about gay marriage?
By the way, last time I heard, America was the land of the free, meaning people can live the way they want to live. I will live my life the way I want to, and everyone else can do the same. Anyone who comes on to a gay site just to bash the way they live, obviously has no life. There is so much more that the world is facing right now... there are soliders overseas, fighting for our freedom... people being killed by AIDS and hunger, while we sit over here, fat and happy, arguing whether being gay is a sin or not. If anyone has read the Bible, we are ALL sinners. No one sin is greater than another. That's why Jesus died. He is the only One who ever wasn't a sinner. Everyone who thinks that they will go to Heaven b/c they aren't gay is sadly misstaken.
That's all I have to say.

I just wanted to say that it is nice to finally have someone that appears to understand the concept of sin and eternal life.  It is not the person that we should despise but the action.  Homosexuality IS a sin, no more and no less than telling a lie but, we still must have love in our hearts for the person.  ALL sin will lead to an eternity in Hell if you do not repent and receive forgiveness from God.  Our goal is to lead as Christian a life as possible and do our best to help others understand the necessary requirements for reaching Heaven (hear, believe, repent, confess, be baptized, live faithfully unto death).  Arguing about this or any other situation is not going to resolve a thing.  If you believe in God my first suggestion is that you read a Bible, perhaps with some assistance from 1 or more study guides that will help you, including a Greek dictionary to assist in original meanings of words.  Secondly, I would ask you to speak to your minister and see what he has to say regarding homosexuality and ask them why.  If you do not believe in God, I would ask you to ask yourself why and see if you can honestly justify the reason.  We never believe in or trust anything that makes us uncomfortable or goes against our personal desires.  That is why we must search with an open mind for logic and Truth.  I just wanted to thank you for not following the pattern of most people when reading these chats.

Fun, fun, fun... nothing will bring out the homophobes like National Coming Out Day.

Well, we're here, we're queer... get used to it.

Seriously, how does my life - as a gay person - affect anyone elses? How am I destroying a straight man and woman's marriage if I want to get married to a guy down the road? How is a no-descrimination policy going to hurt anyone else?

How does my feelings affect any straight person's feelings?

I'm not a religious person, but I've never had anything against people who are religious. Why do a lot of religious people feel the need to discrimate against gay people? Feel free to make judgements about me. Jugdements are everyone's right to make. However, when people start to interfere in my life is when I get mad - that's no one's right.

So, feel free to think of me as a fag. If you want to think I'm going to hell when I die, that's your right. But, for heaven's sake, leave me alone in this life! If I want to have a relationship with a guy, that's my right and perogative. It's who I'm attracted to. Let me live my life with full opportunity, even if you don't like it, and then let the chips fall where they may when it's all said and done.

Part of living life is accepting the fact that everyone's different. We don't have to like it, but we have to accept it.

For all you religous persons, homosexuality is a natural thing some people are born with, most religions condemn this because they like to manipulate people and they work causing fear and anxiety as a method of controlling people.
There is a true God but it's not the one that any religion claim, if that's true then we would have several Gods and that can't happen.
I know there is a God that doesn't condemn homesexuality... he's our universe, starting from you till the last hidden corner of the universe.
Love and help others, don't condemn them because they are not you.

I am a straight woman happily married with two beautiful children.  I think if you found your Mr. right, or Mrs., whatever your sex - so be it.  Be happy.  This world is full of too much hatred and anger to make me want to keep people from being happy.  If we were all allowed to be happy, with whom we choose, maybe, just maybe, there is hope for the future after all.
I have enough to deal with with my own family "issues" for me to be concerning myself with the worlds issues.  If your happy with the man or woman your with - than God Bless You.  And I do mean God!!  He's believed to be the man who created us all - good and evil, so I don't believe he would have any problem with anyone promising a loving commitment in his eyes.
I think if you have that much disgust or hatred for a gay couple, than maybe that's your own ignorant problem. - Worry about your pick-up truck and your possum stew, and stop worrying about everyone elses business.   Let people be happy.  There's so much more to worry about in this world.

I am not trying to be rude, I simply request you to check something out.  Please read Hebrews beginning with Chapter 8, verse 7.  You will see that we are no longer bound by the old laws; when Christ was crucified he nailed the old laws to the cross and began our new covenant with God.  This is not my interpretation, it is simply what the Bible says.  Thank you.

I was born gay, not made.  No one ever abused me or exposed me to gay lifestyle while I was growing up.  In fact, I spent 12 years in Catholic schools.  Of course I had to act straight, although I gradually came to realize that my orientation was different from most of my peers.  Being gay was not cool then, if you were gay you were abused, mentally and physically.  I hid my sexuality for many years.  If being gay were a "choice," I would have chosen something else.  What sane person would choose a life of lonliness and denial, or choose to be abused by others if they told the truth?  No, my orientation was innate, as natural to me as being straight is natural for most people.  I was born gay, God made me this way.  Is anyone willing to say God made a mistake?  If God makes mistakes, then he makes them in every culture and in every country, because gay people are found everywhere.  No, God does not make mistakes, He made me gay and we are a part of the world just as straight folks.

The "you are born gay" Argument has never been proven, and really probably never will be.  Because that means 100% of gay people must have the same genetic catalyst.  That being said who cares anyway. I don't necessarily agree with homosexuality but dont discriminate ever.  People are people.  And I swear if I hear one more "God hates" speech im going to explode.  God doesn't hate regardless.  So Just treat other human beings like human beings.

Anonymous said...

Once again It requires 100% genetic catalyst to prove "you are born gay"  because that has never been proven.  Too many similarities exist in the upbringing of people who are gay.  I am not assaulting homosexuality this is purely scientific.  Just because you feel like you were always gay doesnt mean anything.  A person is black or white from birth that is genetics.  A person has a different hair color that is genetic.  Homosexuality, the jury is still out on.  Just needs to be researched more.

WHEN THE CITIZENS GATHERED IN FRONT OF LOT'S HOUSE AFTER THE ANGELS CAME TO VISIT HIM, THEY ASKED LOT TO SEND OUT THE ANGELS SO THAT THEY MAY KNOW THEM, WHICH IS A BIBLICAL TERM FOR HAVING SEX. IF THAT ISN'T HOMOSEXUALITY, THEN I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS. TO THE PERSON THAT QUOTED LEVITICUS. THE OLD RITUALS,FASTS,SACRIFICES, ETC YOU SPEAK OF WERE LAID AT THE CROSS AND DONE AWAY WITH WHEN JESES DIED. I DON'T HATE GAYS, BUT I DON'T LIKE THE LIFESTYLE. TO THE PERSON THAT SAYS HE IS A CHRISTIAN AND IS GAY I AM SURE THAT YOU ARE SINCERE, BUT GOD SAYS THAT NOT EVERYONE WILL GO TO HEAVEN, NOT EVEN THE ELECT. NOT ALL PASTORS, RABBIS. PRIESTS, ETC. THESE ARE THE ONES THAT DO NOT TEACH GOD'S WORD AND IN SOME SUTLE WAY LEAD PEOPLE  AWAY FROM GOD. GOD SAYS NOT TO JUDGE LEAST YOU BE JUDGED, BUT HE DOES SAY THAT IF YOU SEE SOMEONE LIVING A NON CHRISTIAN LIFE THAT WE SHOULD COUNSEL THEM AND TELL THEM HIS WORD. THAT IS NOT JUDGING.

By being gay you are natures ultimate freak.  Put the religious standpoint to the side for a minute.  Nature put animals and humans on earth for one reaon-to reproduce.  This is done, obviously by being with the opposite sex.  Men and woman bodies are exactly the same in all other aspects except their genitals.  A penis fits inside a vagina like a key in a lock-and it's no accident.  To be gay is to defy all of this beause you are attracted to the same sex.  In natures point of view you are a pointless human being, a gliche in the system. As long as your gay you wont be able to reproduce life.   Honestly, you may argue the religion angle and what the bible says, whether its a choice or not, but there is no doubt that being gay does defeat the scientific and natural reasons humans exist.

I do not presume to know all things just because I am a Chistian.  I do not believe that men should be with men because of what the BIBLE says.  If we believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins and we believe that he is coming back soon for us than we must believe in the BIBLE as a whole.  Not just the parts we want to analyze, break up, and use for whatever purpose serves us at that time.  GOD or PERSONS are not taught through the BIBLE to hate the person.  We are taught to hate the SIN.  That is all.  GOD does not hate the person he hates the sin.  The sin of being gay is no worse than the sin of killing or stealing in GOD'S eyes.  It is not for us to judge people.  GOD says his judgement will come! His judgement will come on all sinners and no one sin is worse than another.  God has taught us through his word to be a LIGHT to others.  How can we be that light by being their judge and jury?
Thankyou

Seriously people. It isn't about religon. It is about the natural order of life. It isn't suppose to to be that way. That is a fact. I condem no one. Trust me, I have done a world of wrong in earlier years. There is not much I haven't tried. Not much at all. I have ask for forgiveness and that is all I had to do. Case closed. That is all anyone has to do. I am human like everyone else. I have impure thoughts. That is Satin trying to destroy the happiness I have finally found. Whatever you do, believe. But for the record, Soddam and Gumora(spelled wrong) were destroyed because the people there were wicked and would not stop their evil doings. All kinds of wickedness just like the world today. Think about it. Think about all the "natural" disasters in the past few years. God has control. He does not make mistakes...not with people, animals, not even the oceans and land. He loves all. No matter if we love him back...and I hope you do.God bless........

Many of your arguments are so ridiculous and self-serving to solely support your own personal bigotry and religious upbringing you make me laugh.  By using some of your same arguments, I guess infertile men and women are equally as worthless on this earth since they can't procreate either.  Likewise, people that opt to not have children in their heterosexual lives must not be "normal" either.  Face up to it people....Everyone has differences and shouldn't be judged, evaluated, or condemned based on your own personal or religious upbringing or teachings.  Congratulations to all those people that have come out and are living happy and successful gay lives despite the people out there preaching the word of "love" while showing nothing more than hate and condemnation towards people that are a little different from themselves.

I am just a nobody, a mother, a wife, and above all a Christian. I read all of these comments all touting religion for their free pass to be mean, hateful, spiteful and just jackasses. I have read the bible as well as the next person, and yes there are inserts about gay relationships, but there are above all, over and over again, statement after statement about LOVE, not love some, not love if they agree with you or do what you do, just love. I always teach my children the verses in the bible that speak of a woman who commited adultery, and before the people stoned her, Jesus had asked that he without sin to throw the first stone, what a surprise, no one threw one single rock. Jesus was not saying that he agreed with adultery, but He was saying that maybe you need to worry a little more about what you do and leave the judging up to Him.The bible has impressed upon me that above all else, just love. Wouldn't love and compassion work a lot better than judgement and hatred? I don't see a lot of people coming out of the closet about being liars, or any web sites devoted to hating adulterers, and telling them that they are worthless or even anyone all up in arms about using God's name in vain, that is even a commandment.  All of my fellow Christians out there, where in the bible have you ever read that anyone is worthless! What a horrible thing to say about anyone. Maybe you should worry more about taking the plank out of your own eyes before picking the specks out of anyone elses. Wouldn't this be such a better world if everyone did that?! Not to call any of you people terrorists, but isn't that why they think it is ok to terrorize us and kill us and blow up our world trade center, because we don't agree with them religiously? If it is ok for you to hate people you never met, or completely judge them and decide with certainty their worth, then what separates you from the terrorists? Shouldn't Homeland Security be notified?

If homosexuality is unatural according to all of those religious scholars who claim to know the bible so well, than monagamy is also not natural. I do not want to get off of the topic at hand but lets get real. I am tired of all of those people who claim to know so much about religion dictate to others on how they should live their adult lives. I see more straight people in the media who have commited crimes against children and most of which who are also married. I would also like to add that going to church on holidays and not practicing the rest of the year does not give you the right to judge. Iam of Jewish and hispanic heritage and I have seen hate from both sides. My parents have had swastika's painted on their door twice in the past and by whom, other hispanics who have nothing better to do with their time.

To all of those straight married people out there who claim to be in "happy healthy relationships" why is it when I am out and about I get approached by married men. I think that instead of worrying about how someone else is living their lives we need to take a good look at what is going on in our own and what is missing.

I am quite saddened by what I see here. People on both sides are so bitter towards the other that it creates a bigger problem than the differences do. Alot on both sides try to quote the Bible to prove their point and both sides fail most of the time. On one hand, Jesus did say that we are to love one another as we do ourselves. But just because he didn't say something, doesn't mean it isn't wrong. Many times he quoted from the Old Testament as fact by saying that he was not here to change The Law, but to fulfill it. On the other hand, he did view all people the same(as we are supposed to do) regardless of their choices in life. We are supposed to love all the same as we do ourselves. We are not supposed to judge people in how they live or what they do or do not do, just try to show them the only Jesus that most people will ever see. God decides each souls fate, NOT us.

In the passage that many people quote in Genesis, about the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (sorry, I misspelled that the first time) Lot gave shelter to foreigners.  He was the only one who would give them shelter.  The people of Sodom asked that he let them out into the public so that they could rape them.  RAPE THEM, not know them.  Rape, especially in the bible, is not about sexual preferences.  It is about dehumanizing another being, regardless of sex, and about asserting your dominance over them.  For a man to rape another man, including in biblical texts, it is about humiliating the man being raped, not about homosexuality.  Many people have looked at this passage and said, "Hmmmm, Lot would rather have these people have sex with his virgin daughters than have two men have sex.  That must mean homosexuality is wrong!"  Historically, Lot may have offered his daughters because in biblical times, having sex, or consumating the marriage before it actually happened, was as good as a marriage, and he was a stranger in Sodom(This is mainly supposition on my behalf, which I recognize, unlike those who produce their conjectures as fact).

What is wrong with being happy? It is so easy to rearrange biblical word to fit your own interpretation.   The undisputed fact is that you should love your neighbor. The bible does not say anywhere to love your neighbor unless... . So for every bible quoter that is so religious but yet so hateful god is watching. So before you are so quick to judge know that GOD is Judging you.

WOW O.O ...
I've been reading alot of these comments and because i jus couldnt sit here i decided to put in a few of my own comments.
Well to start I have a few qualms with these so-called CHRISTians. Personally i can proudly say that Jesus is my saviour always will be. However, as i was browsing through the comments observing what some of what the other so-called christians were saying i almost fell out of my chair. I said to myself 'No WONDER people think so poorly of God these days!' We have people stating facts they say are from the bible and telling people to GO READ THE BIBLE...yet i saw quite a few of those same people NOT putting ANY quotes to support nething they were saying, and there were also quite a few who put quotes in but they were so small that you could twist them however you want to. You want to talk about SIN?? Twisting god's word is one of them. So is hating others for what you yourself dont understand. We are supposed to love others unconditionally. Love is not something you give to whom you want or just because you feel like it or because u like that person we need to love everyone whether we like them or not. I also saw a comment from one of the "dawg's" spouting all the crap about God thinking poorly of gays and homosexuality being a "disease" that even god couldnt cure... o.O ARE YOU RETARDED!!!?? You hypocrite! You basically said that the very God you serve who is perfect, can't HEAL?!? HE'S GOD FOR CRYIN OUTLOUD!!!!! And homosexuality is not a disease though personally i think stupidity such as yours should be.  Moving on.though personally my preferences are for the opposite sex, I hold nothing against those who are in favor of the same sex relationship. I believe that if you truly love someone then it shouldnt matter the sex. It's whats in the heart that really counts. So for all of you willing to stand up and support this day I commend your courage! I'm standing right along with you.
TALK ABOUT IT.

Now for the people who want to take a scientific standpoint and say that it isn't natural...you need to do some biology research. science has shown that humans are not the only species that have gay sex. many other mammals as well as fish, reptiles, amphibians ext have been documented as having homosexual behavior. there are even species that can CHANGE gender to avoid overpopulation in an enclosed area. Homosexuality was taken off the Psychology field's list of mental illnesses long ago. Some of you need to wake up and know what your talking about before you open your hatefull mouths. Clearly, Ignorance is NOT Bliss.

"There are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy..." A quote from Shakespeare's Hamlet, and yet so appropriate in these modern times. For those of you who wish to take the biblical standpoint and say that the "good book" is against homosexuality, you need to do some historical research, especialy the guy who said christians need to beleive in the book as a whole and not just beleive parts of it. The bible is a collection of stories that was written by and put togther by...MAN. when the bible as we know it was created, it was done so at the behest of a roman emperor in an attempt to unify the disagreeing christian sects in the empire. many books and stories were circulating at the time that the churches used as doctrines and many of them were left out of the bible. the bishops that chose the books chose ones that were popular an insured the churches power and influence over the masses. 2nd of all, the books themselves have been mistranslated many times so that things have different meanings in the hundreds of different versions of them. Even the idea of Hell isn'[t actualy in the original texts. That is something that was added by the church to convert the pagans. Remember, the original christians were mostly JEWS and jews don't beleive in hell. There are actualy parts of the bible that do talk about marriage between two men. Even David, a king of babylon took his best friend as a mate and loved him more than all his wives and all his kingdom. We also forget that the bible (as well as history) mentions that one of the apostles married a pair of roman soldiers when he went to rome to convert the masses. Homosexuality has existed in every culture on the planet (and was looked highly upon), long before there was a bible or there were christians.

I am NOT a freak. I am NOT a whore. I am NOT a vile piece of trash!

Even the Catholic Church says that the homosexual orientation isn't a sin (it's the act, and that's considered the same as all other premarital sex). Just because I can't genetically have a child with a partner I might take, doesn't mean that our relationship wouldn't be valid.

I didn't CHOOSE to be bisexual. Don't you think that, if I could choose, I would be either straight or gay? Just one, I don't care. Do you think I CHOSE to be who I am? I didn't choose this any more than I chose to have brown hair and brown eyes, and skin so pale that goths worship me. The ONLY reason my family's okay with it is the fact that I can't keep a girlfriend, but I'm in a stable, serious relationship with a man.

For a long time, I thought God hated me. But, no. God is Love, She watches over all of us. And I know that God would never force me to be someone, and then send me to hell for being that way. That's not the God I know, and I was raised Catholic.

ok. all i have to say is GAY PEOPLE DO NOT CHOOSE TO BE GAY. jesus... its not like gay people wake up one morning and decide this, i think they'd rather lead a "normal" life without so much hate towards them. its not there fault. if all you christians believe in jesus so much then u'd realize god made them like that and to love. ugh.

I'm fourteen, and I know I'm bisexual, but I have come out to my parents but my mother insists its just a phase and that I'm just doing this to attract guys.
Being gay, lesbian, straight, transgender, bisexual or pansexual is natural, perfectly natural.
Penguins do it. Male penguins will even try to have a rock-egg.
Buffalo mount each other.
People who curse us out, I hope you have a good life because maybe something happened to you.
But being bi, straight or gay ISN'T a lifestyle, or a choice. I have to hide it because I go to Catholic school (all-girls) and I want to have a normal childhood!
God bless you though, I hope you are happy.

ok first of all homosexuality isn't a religious thing.
second, WHO CARES?!? IT'S LIFE! You can't stop people from being gay or lesbian. It's their choice. What if your brother/mother/dad/grandma/grandpa/uncle/aunt/cousin/sister/friend said they were gay?? Are you jsut going to stop loving them. I hope not. If you do then your seriously fucked up.

Love people for who they are.
Not who they love.

I agree with a lot of things people are saying about how everyone is hiding behind the Bible when bashing homosexuals. I'm bisexual myself, and I'm not a religious person, so I don't think I have a right to say anything about the Bible.

But! Think about it, on just economic terms for a minute. The United States' divorce count is growing. The majority of heterosexual couples, therefore, are apparently having some problem or another and getting a divorce, getting pregnant by 'accident', and so forth. So! From the horny desires of men and women comes abortion! Another problem in our society, yay! Furthermore, if everybody in the world was heterosexual, there would be too many people for the world to feed. We'd doom ourselves to fall. Why? Because the majority of human beings are obssessed with sex. Most of the time, people have sex for PLEASURE, not only to have a child.

And a lot of people here are right. You can't go through life hiding in a little shell where everything is how you want it to be. Because you know what? Nobody can always get what they want. You can't pitch a fit every time you have to work a job just to make ends meet. You can't whine and moan and point fingers every single time you don't like something.

Snap out of the 15th century. There is no Florence Office of the Night to come and take away the 'bad' homosexuals.

We've ALL committed sins. There is no one in the world who can say they've never done ANYTHING wrong in their life. Humans commit sins. If you have a problem with it, lock yourself in your room your entire life so you can be happy and protected from the real world. Nobody wants to deal with your whining and complaining over something that never has gone away and is never going to. Suck it up or stay in your ignorant box the rest of your life, but don't bother the rest of us with your narrow mind.

No, I do not bash heterosexuality, nor do I bash homosexuality. Love is love. Live with it.

Ok well first and fore most I absolutely agree with momijikun07 and a few others' opinions! But what's all of this about "Men and Men are wrong" blah blah blah? And all this "It's nasty when a man & a man kiss in front of everyone". Ok..um...please explain to me what the difference is between a man & woman kissing and making out in front of many people & a girl & girl kissing? Besides, if you don't like it...DON'T WATCH! Also, for those of you who are complaining and fighting AGAINST gay & lesbian love and marriage....and claiming how "CHRISTIAN" you are....why are you wasting your time here? There are PLENTY of others things in the world that are worse than two people of the same sex in love, like poverty, human abuse, animal rights, murder and plenty of others! I'm not going to quote the bible or repeat "God's words" but I will ask you this...Why does gay marriage and love affect you? How is it that you can walk right past a man & woman couple without acknowledgement, but whenever you see a man & man or woman & woman together you automatically get offensive? If they aren't bothering you, or pushing their gayism(I think I made that word up xP) or lesbianism onto you...then why does it bother you? Is it because you believe it's against God? If so, you are sadly mistaken..... I thought God tells us to love everyone....So do everyone a favor..and stop being resentful against love....TALK ABOUT IT!!!!!

Sincerely,Sabrina

First off... I am not gay... I am not straight.... I am a human being. Why do we need to label people? Liberal or conservative. Black or white. Rich or poor. Blessed or condemned.  I am a person and while I did not ask to be placed on this earth, I am here and I am thankful. I am married. My spouse it beautiful. My spouse makes me laugh, inspires me, uplifts me, supports me, grounds me, enhances me, satisfies me, and challenges me.  He is not here... he is in Iraq... defending US from an unseen threat... that has nothing to do with me or you (Thanks Mr. Bush).  Do you know what my husband would say if they asked him his sexuality? Nothing... because we as Americans are so afraid of things that are different than us that we institute policies like "Don't ask, Don't tell."  Why are we so afraid yet so willing to go to war. Isn't killing a sin? Is there a clause in the Bible that has exceptions? (the appendix must have been added by those pesky extremists!)

Worth Repeating. What an appropriate lable for this blog!
I am a straight, teenaged female and my best friend is a lesbian.  It's actually funny when some people talk to me about our relationship because sometimes they're nervous when asking "isn't she a lesbian?".  Personally, I smile, look them in the eyes and tell them, "yes, that's just another beautiful thing about her."

I'm a 57 yr. old straight, married lady, mother of 4 sons, ages 25, 21 and twins 19, who all appear to be straight.  One didn't date much, no girlfriend, so I did ask him if he was gay and he said no.  I believe him because I've always maintained to my sons that there is absolutely nothing wrong w/being gay.  I've always felt that way, even way back when I was a teen and gays never came out because of the stigma attached to it.  I was definitely in the minority when it came to accepting gays back then.  I feel my sons would feel comfortable telling me since they know I wouldn't have a problem with it.  In addition, two of their uncles on their father's side are gay/bi.  The gay one died from AIDS 19 yrs. ago, the bi is still here but HIV positive.  Bottom line is I feel THAT THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE UNABLE TO LOVE ANYONE BUT THEMSELVES ARE THE ONES WHO ARE SICK.

I wish we could do something about the consious thinking of some humans, but I guess there will be judgement on others until every soul has raised their vibratory level of awareness to above all this. donadee420

This isn't talk about it.  Instead of just pushing one anothers words totally away try and think of it from they're point of veiw.  Those who think that gay relations are wrong, try to think about how you love your spouse/gf/bf.  How you would you just knew that that was the one for you.  It is the same way with Gays, they find their Love and there is no explination.  If you can tell me how we fall into the amazing thing called love, weather man and woman, man and man, or woman and woman, then you tell me, was it expected?

And for you who bash the "gay haters."  Remember they don't feel the same way you gay people do.  I know many of my straight friends don't get how it could happen (Including my mother and boyfriend).  I can try to explain, but they usually still don't understand.  To them it is gross because that is not what they are attracte to.  Just like you would think it is gross to kiss someone you weren't attracted to.

And to those who use the Bible as a weapon let me say that it is not a weapon, it is a scorce of faith and serenity, not hate.  Please come to terms with your own feelings.

Homosexuality is not a sin, brain defect, or psychological disorder. It is who many of us are.  It isn't something to be ashamed of. Its really sad to be hated because of who you are. It hurts alot more when the people who hate you are your own family members, such as your parents. If nothing else has been learned from our nation's and other nation's mistakes in the past, i would hope that only one would be remembered and learned; acceptance is the only way to live at peacewith one another. I just wish people would be more open minded. I just wish you guys could understand how it feels to be in my shoes.

Everyone should let people be who the want to be. How can someone fround on another persons happinest. God put you on this earth to make the right decisions for themselves not for thier neighbors. And all those who judge one another what do you think God has to say about that. You how say that God will punish the gay society that is passing judgement and God will punish you too.
