Rosie is right, however, who's business is it anyway, I was closeted until the age of 42 and now 52 I am able to tell people if the subject comes up. A big weight was lifted off my shoulders. It would be so great to believe two women could have a truely pure relationship based on friendship without being tagged as lesbians. We are living in a gay/lesbian oriented society and, to be quite honest, I am so very weary of having gay/lesbian issues thrown in my face every way I turn. As for Rosie being on the View, I stopped watching the show once it was announced that Rosie would be the new co-host. I do have a choice and I choose to not listen to a self-proclaimed, in-your-face, vulgar, loud-mouthed, rude, mindless, shallow, so-called "Lesbian" and I hope with all my heart that the people in America will come to their senses soon and use every source available to them to stop this cesspool of gay/lesbian garbage being crammed down our throats. If you don't vote for politicians supporting this group, don't patronize stores supporting this group, don't watch movies or TV shows promoting gay/lesbian themes, we as Americans can have an immeasurable impact on their encroachment into our daily lives. I love Rosie. I think that she has never done this format before and it will take time for her to "simmer down" a little bit. She says things many Americans are thinking privately. I laugh during the show more than ever. I love the fact that she is so open about being Gay. And yet Jim McGreevey was grilled on the show. She stepped in to clarify some important points during his interview but didn't much interefere with Elizabeth and Joy interviewing him. Her comment about radical Christians (radical Islam) was true for her because they would burn her at the stake for being gay if they had a chance. not caring about her children or anything. Any extreme belief is equally as dangerous anyway for all of us. My husband and I love her, she is strong, courageous and smart!!

I am not a regular of The View, and have only seen it once and that was when Star was on it. So , upon surfing the chanels I see this woman(?) with nothing but mouth going, loud and out talking all the others, making insults that she calls comments, a real bloat. Then I learn that she is Rosie, the replacement for Star. That poor woman? who is desperatly searching for some one to like her and agree with her sick remarks. She's pitiful. Oprah, I hope, is wise enough to handle her.

I thought The View was an intelligent and diversified view of classy bright women with something intelligent to say. The Hosts were respectful women. Ms. O'Donnell has single handedly dragged the program down to a new low. It offends me to even see her picture next to Opra.
I am truly amazed that the ratings have gone up since Rosie joined The View. I personally have not watched the show since Rosie has joined, but I never liked it that much before she joined, either...however, I have friends who have watched recently and they have shared some of Rosie's better moments with me. I was appalled at some of the things I heard, and I can't believe that Barbara Walters would associate herself with this. That's what really shocks me.
Get rid of Rosie ,she want to be gay fine.That doesnt mean you have to dont shove it down our throats all the time. So shes gay woopee weve hard it you reported it and we dont care we dont want to here it .So get over it .Not news worthy . It is my opinion that Rosie should get a life. I don't see how her wife puts up with her. She is an abomination before any God that she may or may not serve. I can't understand how Barbara and the executive could ever have thought her to be a better replacement for Star. I would have rather seen the seat empty. She should stick more to real issues and less with her issue with others. If Oprah and Gayle choose to be friends or lovers that is their own private affair. Rosie came out; why I don't know. I actually find Rosie to be a rude, ugly, fat, overbearing, loudmouth, non-funny, slob of a dyke who does not deserve to even be on televison, much less have her own show. I find her dialogue to be offensive for the most part, and I would not support any cause that she backs.
I really enjoy the open honesty point of VIEW Rosie brings to the show. Barbara is "bubbly". Elizabeth is as "tight" and extremely left as she was before. Who really cares if Oprah is gay, but now you know about lesbian relationships, spooning, "bed death" etc. I like the new tempo and upbeat rhythem. It's fun!

I was once an avid fan of the View....but just can't seem to watch it any longer without shaking my head in disbelief. Rosie adds nothing. There's already too much controversy on TV. What were you thinking when you added her to the mix.
The View used to really hit on some terrific topics. The ladies, including Star, added a great deal of maturity, intelligence and humor for an hour. I noticed that the View has mentioned their ratings have increased....but, Barbara, do you not realize the only reason for that is because so many people are in shock, and want to tune into the VIEW...only to see what Rosie , who is clearly uneducated, clearly a loud mouth, clearly set out to see who she can upset, clearly looking for attention, I can go on and on.
Who knows why people love to go to zoos, love to go to side shows or horror movies...but they do. That's why the Views ratings have risen.
She adds nothing to your show Barbara, with the exception of bringing the audience from the Jerry Springer show to this time and channel.
You need to bring back a Lady, in the pure sense of the word, Gay, not Gay...who cares? that's not as important as Rosie thinks it is.
Or bring in a real Gentleman. anyone but Rosie who is so opinionated, and truly out to see how much she can "over talk" the others,....and clearly shows that she feels her ideas are the only ones that count.

I have enjoyed "The View" since the show started. I think the original
line up of ladies was great. I understand change, I understand opinion,
and I understand eveyone has a right to his or her own opinion.
"The View" is about sharing different views, that is the main thing the show is all
about. However, some views of the "Ladies" on the stage need to be held
to a minimum. The viewers and fans "DO" help make the show, in a way, so
we the "fans" can come to our own conclusions about the subject that is being
discussed on a day to day basis. Going on and on about that chosen
subject and having it discussed by the ladies in "overdrive" is NOT always
the way to do it.
I have noticed the subjects, though interesting, are now taken to a much
higher and more lengthy level. The problem with this, speaking for myself, is that I tend to loose interest when this happens and I'll turn the show off. If they have a great guest that day I may walk away during the endless chatter and wait for the entire segment to end and come back for the guest.
I have loyally watched THE VIEW for years. I will no longer watch it. Rosie is way too overpowering to put her on a 'panel'. And not only is she too loud and way too obnoxious, her extremist left-wing ideas and slamming of our President and slamming Christianity, this is no longer a show of diverse viewing women. It's the Rosie O'Donnel hour. Oh, btw....her OWN SHOW WAS CANCELLED. Duh.

Barbara Walters did not treat Starr right. I have not watched the show since
Starr left. But I sure would not watch now that Rosie is on. No one is going
to make me believe her screwed up life is good show business. I had long time
girl friends long before I knew anything about gay or lesbian. Crude, Rosie wants
to put Oprah and Gayle into the wollering hole she is in. WELL, get off,Rosie. You don't have what it takes to be in the same class.
And ABC, needs to clean it up,too. You guys have really let a lot of degrading
stuff enter into your programming. Believe it or not, there are still some of us
out here that are decent, and do not want to hear or see the trash you are

I miss Star. She was a classy lady with her head on straight. It seems these days if a celebrity has a moral backbone they get fired. It's sad that the television media prefers to promote filth. If that is what they think mainstream America wants to see, they are sadly wrong. We are tired of it. Tolerance goes both ways and I don't see much tolarance in Rosie's view of more conservative ideals. No one is perfect, but we can strive for a higher conscienceness. If true, it looks like Oprah has better taste. I do not agree with Howard Stern very often, but I must say he is right on when he calls Rosie a big fat pig. I don't watch the View. Wrong demographic for me. I have seen a few minutes. If ratings is all you want then Rosie will help. The guys, not gays, keep an eye on the fatbar for Rosie. She really stirs it up. I have no issues with gays or lesbians except that I don’t care to hear about them every time I turn on t.v. Why is it that every show lately needs to have a gay or lesbian side theme? This is not what my children need to see or hear. As youngsters they have enough to figure out regarding sexuality without throwing lesbian/gay issues into the mix. THey are already on overload. I am a Black male that has watched a little of the View in the past. An observation I made when Star was on the show was that it was a show that you could watch and enjoy. When Barbara Walters started to deny the rift between her and Star I knew it was time to turn it off. When I heard that Rosie was coming on the show I definiteley wasn't going to watch it. I recently returned from the war in Iraq where I saw a lot of death and destruction and people that just wanted to live. Then I come home and I see that the entertainment business is no better than Al Queda or the Taliban. We just exhibit hatred towards our fellow human beings. Racist like Rosie corrupt the young people that watch the show and we wonder why we have Columbines throughout America. I think that the producers of the shows on T.V. still want to drive a wedge between Black and White relations in America and they saw Rosie as someone who could fulfill their goals. If the shoe was on the other foot and Star was speaking foul of Barbara she would have been gone with the quickness.

I have no idea what Rosie was tryihng to say - only Rosie knows --- however, however, I do think that Rosie is a very opinionated woman and that she does not hold her tounge to a point of rudness. I realize that she speaks out for what she believe or believes in, however to interfere in other peoples personal lives is out of line. Opra is a beautiful (inner beauty) woman and what she feels is private to herself should be kept her personal business. I also want to state that I am amanzed that she was selected in the first place. The view was a show of dignity and respect, humor and info. Today it is loud and boisterous....everyone is louder, because ou actually have to be loud to be heard over Rosie. I taped the show daily and used it to relzx with at night, todya I watch 5 minutes and delete. I am sure my opinion does not matter, but is the decision to keep the value of the show or get higher rating and more money. Most radically different people like Rosie are obsessed with appearing unconventional which they seem to equate with the appearance of intellectualism and this seems to be the easiest route to take if you are lacking in the substance for true intellect. In Rosie's case she is America's posterchild for the kind of person you love to hate. A pigfaced, loudmouthed person who has a propensity for hatred. Hatred of anything or person that is conventional and doesn't agree with her idea of noncomformity. Just because Rosie is homosexual, she's can't conceive of a close friendship between two women that doesn't involve sexual attraction. One of the greatest blessings in the life of a woman is having a close friend that she can share everything with and love being with. It has nothing to do with homosexual feelings. How sad that evidently Rosie has never experienced that.
I'd like to start by saying that I am a gay woman, and I DO NOT appreciate Rosie's comments re Opray and Gayle. How many years was Rosie on her own show and did not come OUT? She says now that "everybody knew", but I'll bet there were quite a few people out there in middle America who did not know. Yet the gay community let her alone to live with her own "cover-up". We understand how difficult it is for gay people to succeed, especially at the time that Rosie had her own show. It's true that things have gotten slightly better since then, but that does not give her the right to out anybody else. I don't know if Opray and Gayle are gay or just very good friends. Frankly, I don't care. I had hoped that when Rosie was hired for the VIEW that she would be a good spokesperson for the gay community and bring a different point of view to the show. going...lol I can sort of listen and look up while I work..(self employed) The
building does not have cable...and ABC is the only local channel we can pick up
with an antenna.... (other stations are located about 75 miles away.. mountains
inbetween...) so... it's ABC or nothing....
NOW I turn the TV off at 11 am...and turn the radio on until 12 noon...
Rosie has got to go... or at least tame her down and shut her mouth up some...

It's perfectly fine to say you do not agree with Rosie's views or lifestyle. One reason the show is called View is to air different viewpoints. We should be able to be tolerant and respect other people's views, even if we do not like them. It was probably not a good idea, or at least not good taste, to speculate on others' sexuality. It's also ok to say you think Rosie is too loud and is rude when she talks over the others, which is a reasonable criticism. It is OK to say because you don't like her, you do not watch the show. However, it is also rude and offensive and hurtful when, just because you don't like what she says, to call her fat, ugly, pig, slob, bull dyke etc...Does that mean if she were prettier, she'd be OK? How shallow are we? You would think some of these people ranting the most, especially those who claim to be Christian, could be a little kinder.

Didn't see the show; as I am working during the hours this show is on. However, I must say I wouldn't watch it even if I could. Rosie O'Donnell has put the final touch that we as audiences do not care for. She is putting her personal personal life in front of us if you will and trying to force us to agree with her lifestyle. Just saw a movie last night that I am sure she would enjoy. Lots of lesbianism going on. It was the Black Dahlia. just because rosie has some outrageous things to say about almost anything (whatevaer comes to her mind) and people are watching resulting in increased ratings (temporarily for now), doens't mean her verbal inticements will result in long term "view" viewers. It's gets old after a while. at 1st it tantilizing, but then the obnoxiousness (and LOUD) and tintilation grows old and stale...like after riding that gigantic rollercoaster 100 times, it's no big deal. That's probably why her own show got canceled. But after a while, verbal overstimulation gets boring. If and when her personality can actually interest us, not just tantilize, then maybe she will have longevity in entertaining us. It's NOT a lesbian issue, it a personality-ability to entertain issue. We look to her for that "off beat" attitude which she is so good at sharing (even if we don't really care), but the fact that she can be so obxonious on TV and get away with it (sometimes and for now) makes her momentarily interesting. But c'mon Rosie, how old are you and your level of maturity (not the same as older women being young at heart) is somewhere near 8-12. The women/men(?) who watch "the View" are all stay at homers probably (unless they TIVO) and probably need that overstimulation but trust me, she will get old, like a callous on a foot and will need to be removed before the pain begins to set in.
I don't watch the View anymore. I feel sorry for Elizabeth Hasselback . Having too sit by her every day would drive me nuts. So Rosoes GAY who care. But don't drag down a great show host like Oprah. I have lady friends also , we have fun, laugh and cry. I have no desire too have sex with them. ROSIE you have no class.

Rosie is a joke in every sense of the word. She is a slob. The people who made the decision to allow her to host any show, or be a guest for that matter, ought to be investigated as to their motives. She won't be on long. Her "shock" tactics are not fooling anybody and the sponsors had better take note that she is not the peoples choice. I believe that when she arrives on most TV sets there is a record changing of the channel taking place.

I just started watching The View when I retired a couple of years ago. I really enjoyed the "ladies" and thought the show had a lot of class... no more!!! I miss Star, she was very smart and a "lady". I watch Meredith on the Today show; she also is smart and fun, too. I love Joy; and I am impressed by her intelligence and humor. Elizabeth is Elizabeth ....very opinionated and judgemental...but a "lady". I am so disappointed in Barbara Walters in her treatment of Star Jones. Just by signing Rosie on she was forcing Star off. Why would Star want to associate with Rosie after the things she said about her. Why would anyone want to associate with or watch Rosie; she is rude and loud and she has taken the class out of The View. Where I live, Martha Stewart came on after The View on a different channel but this fall she is now opposite The View. I will no longer watch The View but will turn the channel to Martha as I prefer watching a "lady" with "class". I will also follow Joy and go to see her when she comes to Atlantic City.
I can no longer watch the view now that Rosie is on it. In my opinion she is a loud mouth trashy d---. I hate that she is back on tv. She is loud and ignorant and will take over the show with her stupid comments. How dare she try to out Oprah and her friend. i just wanted to say a little something about this story.i dont agree with the issue of the veiw if they only knew how their ratings will be.rosie needs to sitck to comedy or whatever she does.it makes the veiw look very foolish.no longer a fan!!! now i believe everybody pretty much think somewhere in their minds that oprah and gail do have a weird tightnet friendship.Steadman was just there to past time,a decoy, you never hear gail say anything about a man.do she have one?oprah not ready for married steadman not ready blah,blah,blah.years to come it will come out the closet .i beleive that oprah and gail ARE lovers..

once upon a time i discovered "The View" and found a show that contributed educationally, emotionally, intellectually, most importantly to women, but to men as well. We saw a dais that contained a "classy" , but varied group of women with a variety of views, who had the gift of the "word", and people grew to love them. Women gained positive, smart, classy, humorous, educated role models.
I think that the decision to just "fill in" an empty seat with Rosie, clearly indicates that this choice was not very well thought out. The VERY special recipe that made "The View" needs very special ingredients. It's like baking a cake. If you are all out of sugar, you don't just add salt because it looks the same.
I don't really want to touch the gay issue, since everyone here and Rosie has already had a field day with that; plus that isn't even the core issue here.
We need to get back a show with the class & versatility it deserves, or take it off the air.

ps... Rosie, either get a good therapist or a good hobby. There is more to life than your sexuality. It's getting boring and annoying. Even your "sisters" are turning the channel.
